Technical Information
Application Armour 2007 augments Microsoft's Windows Operating System by providing a Government grade 256–bit AES encrypted virtual file system (Secure Storage) in which a user can store personal information and sensitive data. Access to the Secure Storage requires a password chosen by the user. So only the user can access these files.
The user's files are hidden and are only accessible by starting a program in one of the Armour modes. Offline mode files can only be accessed through Offline programs; Online mode files can only be accessed through Online programs and so on.
Armour also installs additional security at key points throughout Windows to secure (Armour) virtually any application. By Armouring the application we can guarantee that:
- All data created or modified by an Armoured application is placed in Secure Storage and not on the hard disk. There will be no trace of your activities anywhere except in your password protected Secure Storage
- Different Armour modes use separate portions of the Secure Storage so that only the programs you run in an Armoured mode have access to your data
- Communication between different Armoured applications and other running programs is strictly controlled, providing a safe environment for you to work on sensitive data and download files from the Internet
- Offline programs are not allowed to access the Internet or networks ensuring that your Offline files cannot be stolen whilst you are connected to the Internet
- When combined, the four key security features of Armour ensure that your data, identity and the integrity of your PC are preserved at all times.
Application Armour 2007 has been fully tested with the following software:
